2026 Promotion
We have done a lot of our promotion via social media this year, but here are some of the other media appearances we’ve had about the competition
936 ABC Hobart - Afternoons program with Joel Rheinberger
We were invited to join Joel Rheinberger on ABC Hobart’s Afternoons program on Thursday 9 July to talk about the launch of our 48hr short film competition.
Emma was joined by Danielle Ross, a Tasmanian emerging screenwriter currently studying at RMIT in Melbourne, who is doing a placement with Apple Box Studio, helping us to organise the competition.
If you want to have a listen to the interview, click on the image to the left. Our interview is from 1.03.14 to 1.13.25
7News Tasmania
7News Tasmania interviewed us the morning after our awards night, on Sunday 19 July to talk about the success of our 48hr short film competition.
Emma was interviewed, alongside Rosie Cann and Poppy Lennon, actors from the film ‘QOD’, by Team Early On-Set, winners of Best Film. Footage of the awards night was provided by Amelia Chalke, and snippets of other films were used, including ‘Homing Pigeons’ by Team Jelly Babies, and ‘Lock N John Make A Movie’ by Team Take Thirteen.
Info Sessions & Networking
HOBART & LAUNCESTON
For those interested in our 48hr short film comp, but not sure what it's all about, we held info sessions and networking in both Hobart and Launceston. The Hobart event was held on Wednesday 24 June at 6.30pm at Lumina, 269 Elizabeth St, North Hobart, and the Launceston event was held on Thursday 25 June at 6.30pm at Martini’s Cocktail Lounge, 33 Kingsway.
These sessions were completely FREE. We told people all about the competition, and then facilitated a bit of relaxed networking to help them meet some new people (it wasn’t as scary as it sounds, I promise!) Bonds were formed, contact details were exchanged, and teams were created.
This event and the competition were open to Tasmanian residents 16+.
We run this competition every year, so make sure to follow us on social media to stay in the loop for next year’s event!
