  • Emma Wilson (she/her)

    FOUNDER / CEO

    Emma is the Founder and CEO of Apple Box Studio. Previously, Emma worked as Program Manager at Wide Angle Tasmania for over seven years, interspersed with work as a Creative Producer for her production company Ten Past Three Productions, developing her own web series, TV series and feature film projects, including online comedy “Dear God.”

    Emma has worked in the Tasmanian screen sector since 2012, in a variety of roles including Runner, Casting Assistant, Production Secretary, Production Manager, Assistant Director, Producer and Executive Producer, and has even turned her hand to acting a few times. Emma has worked on TVC’s, art installations, short and feature length films, web and TV series.

    She has lots of teenagers and cats at home, loves singing 90s music in the car, and anything to do with Christmas.

  • Jared 'Jags' Goldsmith (he/him)

    CHAIR

    Under the pseudonym Jared Goldsmith, Jags has been wearing down the boards of Hobart stages for over 20 years. 3 Uni Revues, 9 Shakespeare in the Gardens, several short films and TV commercials, and millions of hours of study burn in the heart of Jags in the shape of a love for the arts that is eternal and ambitious.

    An actor at heart Jags is also an acting coach, Writer, Director, and an aspiring parliamentarian. Jags is a dreamer with a plan.

  • Lynn Reed (she/her)

    DEPUTY CHAIR

    Lynn Reed is a screenwriter and independent feature film producer who specialises in creating and developing features with a strong focus on female leads and previously untold stories, and she has worked in the US and Australia.

    She is currently in advanced development on the feature "The Octopus and I", based on Erin Hortle's debut novel of the same name. Lynn has been an associate producer on "Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears", an Australian feature film based on the popular TV series "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" produced by Every Cloud Productions, and in the US, she wrote and produced the independent feature "A Sort of Homecoming", released by Mar Vista Entertainment and Netflix in North America.

    In her first career, Lynn was an internet strategist and web developer for multiple US political campaigns, including two presidential campaigns!

  • Jared Hyland (he/him)

    SECRETARY

    Jared Hyland is a local filmmaker, an avid Writer & Director, with a passion for screen and storytelling. His recent film, ‘Wherever You Go, There You Are’ is entering the festival circuit following a sold-out cinema premiere, and his previous film, ‘Waiting Room’, was accepted into SXSW Sydney 2024’s Short Film program.

    Having graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Media and Communications, Jared worked in the industry on recent productions ’The Survivors’ and ‘Bay of Fires’ S2, and is continuing to create short films under his Production Company, ‘Broch Productions’.

    Outside of filmmaking, Jared enjoys playing video games, reading, sports, and collecting physical media. 

  • Oskar Milojevic (he/him)

    TREASURER

    Oskar is a Tasmanian Singer/Songwriter, Musician, Actor, and Film Composer. 

    He has written, performed and produced two eight-track albums, following the release of seven singles under alias Oskar Milo. 

    Throughout a career spanning over 15 years in the Tasmanian music scene, Oskar has experienced firsthand the challenges of becoming an emerging artist and strives to support and strengthen the creative arts sector in the state of Tasmania.

  • Finn Clarke (he/him)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Finn Clarke is a Tasmanian screen composer. 

    He was nominated for Best Soundtrack Album at the 2025 Australian Screen Music Awards, Best Music for an Advertisement at the same awards in 2024, and won the Sound Design category and a 'Grand Diemen' at the 2025 Diemen Awards. His credits include “The Raftsmen” (Dogwoof/WildBear Entertainment), “The Platypus Guardian” (ABC/PBS), “I’m So Sorry for Your Loss” (ABC) and “Moonbird” (SBS).

    Finn is a co-founder of the Tasmanian Media Composers Collective, and was awarded Music Australia’s 2024 Export Development Fund and the 2023 Regional Screen in LA Scholarship. His music blends classical training at the UTAS Conservatorium of Music, with influences from folk, EDM, and experimental sound design, enriched by experience in location sound recording (“Deadloch”, “Muster Dogs”, “Bay of Fires”).

    In his spare time, Finn enjoys hiking, windsurfing, and patting cats. He is currently completing a Master of Music in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, supported by the Brian May Scholarship and the Ian Potter Cultural Trust.  

  • Lauren Watson (she/her)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Lauren brings over 15 years of experience in photography and filmmaking.  After training at an acting school in Los Angeles and working on productions there, she spent four years in Canada acting and filmmaking. 

    Lauren founded her own production company, producing, directing and acting in short films. Her acting credits include “This Means War “(with Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy), “Supernatural”, “Hellcats”, lead roles in independent feature films in Canada and Tasmania, a Canadian web series and local Tasmanian commercials. Upon returning to Tasmania, she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UTAS.

    Lauren’s dedication to the creative arts is matched by her valuable understanding of the intersection of finance and the film industry. She brings experience in the financial sector, with a background that includes banking, accounting and financial planning.  Lauren is excited and honoured to help connect and support the Tasmanian creative community.

  • Dean Baron (he/him)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Dean Baron is a Northern Tasmanian game developer who has joined Apple Box Studio to help support their endeavours in the game development community in Tasmania. Having previously served on the Tas Game Makers Board, Dean brings his knowledge and passion to the Apple Box team.

  • Nina Smith (she/her)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Nina is owner of Lumina, Isle Weddings and Style My Day. She is a graphic designer, wedding stylist, and mother of four.
    Nina is at her happiest when she is organising events, making things look pretty, cooking delicious food, and supporting the arts.
    In her spare time, Nina loves watching cricket and spending time with her family.

  • Saul Gray (he/him)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Saul Gray is an emerging Assistant Director and filmmaker who often collaborates on projects within the local film scene. He volunteered frequently for Apple Box during its first year and graduated as Valedictorian from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Media. Saul has gained experience in TVC, scripted and unscripted productions, including a placement in the AD department on ‘Bay of Fires’ Season 2 and working as a 3rd AD on the pick-ups for Netflix’s ‘The Survivors’. Most recently he served as a production coordinator on a US unscripted documentary series.

    Saul strives to foster a sustainable creative sector by promoting authentic Tasmanian stories and enhancing the visibility and viability of local crews. He brings practical industry experience and a community-driven perspective to better represent emerging creatives in lutruwita/Tasmania

  • Ella Watkins (she/her)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Ella grew up in lutruwita, Tasmania. She’s a writer & director and, since joining social media in 2021 to share her original comedy sketches, has amassed an online following of over 3 million people. She has since worked with brands like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Warner Brothers, and Universal Studios. Women’s issues and autism awareness are central themes to Ella’s work, and she is passionate about celebrating people for their differences and individuality. 

    Over the last few years, Ella has been show running, writing, and directing several original comedy series with support from Screen Australia, Screen Tasmania, Screen Producers Australia, Tiktok and Youtube. Ella is a published author and illustrator of the children’s book series ‘Henry the Goat’, and has worked as an actor in guest roles on shows like ‘Rosehaven’, ‘Playing for Keeps’, and ‘Halifax Retribution’.

    Most recently, Ella has been exploring her love of storytelling through music. She is currently working on two funded musical comedy series for screen, which she is writing, directing, and writing the original music.
